Step: 1

Make sure that the parts of the manual meat grinder are free of rust and clean as well.

The parts should be dry before you use them. Also, sharp blades are required if you want perfect ground meat and done your job with much ease.


As there are several brands for grinders – the parts may vary though there are common parts such as metal plates, cutting blades, handle with a feeder, a nut, collar, and the main body as well.

The grinder will perform efficiently if all its parts are fitted to their right places.

Step: 2

Now you need to place the handle to its right place correctly. You must ensure that the handle can move around easily while you fit it into the main body.

You may face a lot of rubbing if the handle is not fixed correctly. Moreover, the rubbing may injure its user and may damage the working surface as well.

Nowadays, there are newer models of meat grinders available on the market come with a shorter mounting bolt. And the bolt helps to hold the extrusion plate and the cutting blades as well.

In old models, the bolt is big enough and the plate is held by the hex nut or wing nut in the grinder. Moreover, there is only one cutting blade with no extrusion plate.

Step: 4

Now you need to place the manual meat grinder onto the work table. And the work table must be strong enough and stable as well.

It’s necessary to use wedges on the underside of the table to secure the grinder. Well, quality wedges are required like they have to be 1 or 11/2 inches thick. The thickness plays a very important role in keeping the manual grinder in its right place and doesn’t let the machine move.


If it’s not fixed on the counter or table, then you may face quite difficulties and feel uncomfortable as well while grinder your meat.

After you are done processing the meat, you need to disassemble the grinder to clean it and store it appropriately for the next use.

Make sure that all the parts are dried before you store them. It is better to use a light coat of oil to coat the grinder.
